I have personally ‘suffered’ with bunions for years.
Suffered is an overused word, I have ‘suffered’ in the sense of not being able to buy shoes, and having to keep my feet covered because of they are ugly and unsurprisingly, tight shoes cause pain. First world problems, as are bunions. You don’t see them in developing nations – until they start spending their days sitting down, putting on weight and wearing bad shoes.
However, my feet are on the move! I have spent the last five years working on my legs – to improve their alignment, mobility and strength and lo and behold, I may yet get rid of my flat feet and bunions.
Bunions as with any other foot, knee, leg, back problem are postural problems. Your feet have molded themselves according to how you walk and the type of little concrete coffins (aka shoes) you have worn over the years. In my case, the answers are i) badly and ii) equally bad.
Over the last five years, I have worked on my back and legs, with a series of exercises, stretches, massages, and movements. My walking has improved, it is faster and more efficient, my legs are a slightly better shape and my butt is definitely perter than it has been in decades. The evidence, my partner’s increasing interest in it, and a toot from a bus driver.
Shape depends upon muscles – sloppy muscles lead to the accumulation of fat and poor definition. High quality muscles remove fat both from in and around the muscles and give a better more defined profile, as well as providing more energy, heat and movement. My feet are warming up.
The purpose of this website is to explain what is known by the medical profession and the basic science that underlies medicine to help you find exercises to improve your back, legs and feet and the muscles and improve your own physical definition. Be warned – there is no magic formula that works for everyone, only principles that you can apply and work out what works for you.
Firstly – all things are possible! the question is simply how you do it, not whether it can be done.
